1)NAGİDOS ANCİENT CİTY
This ancient city located in 10 km east of Anamur in Bozyazı district.The ancient city was named after Nagidos, the old name of Bozyazı, and Nagidos means small island.It is estimated that the history of the city dates back to 2 thousand BC. During this period, the city was located within the borders of the Tarhunndasha Kingdom formed by the Luwian people.
2)CLEOPATRA'S GATE
This beatiful ancient gate located in Tarsus district in Mersin.It is thought that this gate was built during the last periods of the Eastern Roman Empire.
It is rumored that when the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra came to meet her Roman lover General Antony in Tarsus, they passed through this gate and that is why the gate was known as "Cleopatra Gate". The gate was built in the shape of a horseshoe. Its depth is 5.60 meters and the height of the gate is 8.5 meters.
3)ANAMURİUM ANCİENT CİTY
Anamurium Ancient City is located approximately 7 km from Anamur district.During the Roman period, the city was used as an important base and transit zone with the advantage of being close to Cyprus and was considered as a central point of commercial activities. It was later captured by the Persians and was recognized as a very important Persian city in the region until the 6th century AD. In the 7th century, Arab raids to the region caused damage to the city and it was abandoned to its fate.
4)MAMURE CASTLE
Mamure Castle is located in southern Turkey, near the Bozdoğan neighborhood of Mersin's Anamur district.The castle, which has 39 towers, water cisterns, a mosque and a bathhouse outside, is surrounded by a 10-meter wide defensive moat. The lower parts of the castle walls are wide and With its impressive architecture and 1500 years of history, Mamure Castle is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. Castle thought to have been built in the 3rd or 4th century, it was repaired by the Armenian Kingdom in the 12th century. There is also a mosque with a single minaret built by Karamanoglu Mahmut Bey inside the castle.
5)MEZGİT CASTLE
Mezgit Kale, known as the "Tomb of the Fearless King" in the region, is estimated to have been built in the 2nd or 3rd century AD. Built with cut stones, this mausoleum is the height of a 6-story apartment building.
